The 22-room building is set amid orange groves on an 11-acre estate in Rehovot, south of Tel Aviv. The estate is now the home of the Weizmann Institute of Science, but was merely an agricultural settlement at the time of construction, from 1934 to 1936. Ambitious gardens filled with native plants and trees surround the villa.

Both being scientists, they chose to build their home next to the Daniel Sieff Research Institute, which is now known as the Weizmann Institute of Science. The dwelling was modeled to adapt to its surrounding environment, culture, and climate.
